A remarkable collection of letters from
distinguished Victorians has come to light in Ludlow. The letters
were written to Thomas Wright, a Victorian antiquary and an Old
Ludlovian. Among them are letters from Charles Dickens, Thomas
Carlyle, W. M. Thackeray, Charles Kingsley and William Gladstone.
Chris Train has written their story in this book which answers the
questions – who was Thomas Wright? Why were the letters written to
him? Why were they among the Southern papers? What were they about?
